Aesthetics & Genetics by the Bay strives to provide confidential cancer risk assessment while offering optimal health strategies for individuals and families concerned about their risk for cancer. We offer a personalized risk assessment focused on cancer prevention and a healthy lifestyle plan.
By increasing awareness through education, we hope to motivate individuals toward healthy lifestyle choices that may help prevent disease from occurring. Our screening and surveillance protocols are based on the most current, approved guidelines. We also offer genetic testing with before test and after test counseling.
Though hereditary cancers comprise only about 5-10% of cancers overall, there are “red-flags” that signal a possible inherited component. These red flags include early age of diagnosis, before age 50; two or more cancers in the same individual; clustering of rare or unusual cancers, including childhood cancers, male breast cancer; and people of Ashkenazi Jewish descent.
